Three New Free EAs: SnapBack, QuickPulse & DualHorizon

Table of Contents

Correction — July 30, 2026. Every backtest table in this post has been replaced. The figures originally published here came from a backtest engine that decoded each price bar’s intrabar high and low in the wrong order, on every bar. We fixed the parser, re-downloaded the data, and re-ran all three EAs with unchanged parameters. The corrected results are worse: QuickPulse now fails on all three pairs and we have withdrawn our recommendation for it, and DualHorizon’s USDJPY has dropped from passing to failing. SnapBack still passes on EURUSD and GBPUSD, with GBPUSD weaker than shown before. The tables below are the corrected numbers; the original figures are quoted alongside so you can see exactly what changed. Full disclosure on the performance page.

Today we’re releasing three new free Expert Advisors at once — the largest expansion of the SteadyPips suite so far. Until now our four EAs leaned heavily toward momentum: trends (SteadyPips, TripleAlign), breakouts (BreakWave), and ranges (GridMaster). The new trio deliberately fills the gaps, adding mean reversion, contrarian dip buying, and multi-timeframe trend confirmation.

Every EA was put through the same internal quality gate before release: a 26-month backtest (January 2024 → March 2026, H1, spread modelled) requiring a profit factor above 1.3 with drawdown under 30% on at least two of three major pairs. We publish the per-pair numbers below — including the pairs that didn’t pass — because you should know where each EA is strong before attaching it to a chart. After the July 30 correction above, only SnapBack still clears that bar.

SnapBack EA — Mean Reversion

SnapBack waits for price to close outside 3-standard-deviation Bollinger Bands — a statistically rare stretch — with RSI(14) confirming exhaustion, then fades the move back toward the mean. Both stop and target sit at 2.0× ATR, so the edge comes from a ~60% win rate rather than asymmetric targets. It holds one position at a time and never averages down.

QuickPulse EA — Contrarian Dip Buying

QuickPulse triggers on the exact bar where a fast RSI(6) first crosses into washout territory (below 25 or above 75) and takes the other side with a deliberately lopsided trade: a tight 1.3× ATR stop against a 6× ATR target, both anchored to a slow ATR(50). Roughly four trades in five lose small; each winner is worth ~4.6 losers — the design needs about an 18% win rate to break even, and on corrected data it lands right on that line rather than above it.

GBPUSD5211.00 — did not pass19.0%0.7%354 trades, PF 1.26
USDJPY5560.94 — did not pass17.8%2.2%373 trades, PF 1.35

No pair passes. On corrected data QuickPulse trades far more often than the original run suggested and finishes flat to slightly negative on every pair — the winners no longer cover the losers. We have withdrawn our recommendation for QuickPulse on all pairs. It stays downloadable and its failed numbers stay published; we will not recommend it again unless a re-worked version passes on clean data. Learn more →

DualHorizon EA — Multi-Timeframe Trend

DualHorizon only trades an H1 EMA(25/100) crossover when two more gates agree: ADX(12) confirms trend strength with the right +DI/−DI direction, and price sits on the correct side of the H4 EMA(50). Winners are held toward a 6× ATR target with a 1× ATR trailing stop underneath — fewer trades, bigger targets.

USDJPY1281.11 — did not pass27.3%0.5%120 trades, PF 1.34

Only EURUSD clears the 1.3 gate on corrected data. USDJPY is still profitable but no longer passes, so it drops off our recommended list. Recommended pair: EURUSD. Learn more →

TripleAlignTriple-EMA alignmentStrong confirmed trends

DualHorizonMulti-timeframe EMA crossTrends with H4 agreement

The new trio was designed to be complementary: mean-reversion and contrarian entries are meant to work exactly when trend EAs sit flat or give back gains, and DualHorizon’s H4 gate keeps it out of the chop the others may trade through. Running a mix across different charts diversifies your exposure to market regimes — no single condition carries the whole account. Note that design intent is not the same as measured result: on corrected data QuickPulse does not deliver on that premise, which is why it is no longer recommended.
